Kitchen of the listed cottage needed a total revamp. Hadn't been decorated in many years as they had just not got around to it. Water leaks to sort out on the ceiling, lots of peeling paint and damp patches with mould. The old beams needed bringing round, although not back to bare wood which would have been the best option. Windows all cleaned back from mould, filled, sanded, undercoated and finished with topcoat.

Last week also finished off this outside project on this lovely listed cottage. Had to repair some cracks first. Mist coated using a breathable masonry paint, then top coated with the final coat of breathable in white. Moved into the interior midweek (nice to get out of that heat)!

Continuing with the outside theme, had some paining to do at the estate agents. Well, not just painting. It is basically a rotten set of frames that needed bringing around. Put so much resin in I think there is more resin than wood now 🤣. Lots of replacement wood sections too. So made good with all the usual products, using Dulux Weathershield undercoat and gloss system. Came up looking pretty good. Hopefully will last a couple of years!

Bit of outside work the week before last. God it was hot! Front porch, rear windows, fascia and door. All prepped by scraping back, sanding, filling with resin in the larger damaged areas, undercoating and final top coat in Dulux weathershield white gloss. The back door was in Albany satin in Garland. First time using this product which I was happy with. Bit of inside work too on some window frames, but nice and straight forward.

At height this week doing some external render work. Washed down first with fungicidal wash then rinsed. Repaired all cracks, flaking and damage around windows. Then 2 coats of Dulux weathershield in magnolia, all ready for the customers to host family without us in the way. Special thanks to for the use of the high ladder and assisting me by footing it!

Returning locally to Quainton, I had some wallpaper removal to do on this one. Most walls were sound, two were a right mess, but managed to bring them round with 3 sets of filling! Sealed the walls ready for their coat of Crown Linen Blend. Woodwork in white satin. Also had a lovely work experience lady with me, who shows promise for the future!

Ensuite....so the customer said to me they wanted the same colour scheme as the dressing room, but you decide what to do...

Ensuite....so the customer said to me they wanted the same colour scheme as the dressing room, but you decide what to do. So I went with this. The customer's were chuffed to bits and turned what they hated into a room they wish to be in. Now wanting all their panelling done in the Vardo! I love that part of my job

Been super busy these last few weeks I forgot to post! OK, so drip feeding some work pictures. Firstly returning customer in Boarstall. Completed their dressing room in F&B Skimming Stone and F&B Vardo, woodwork in Skimming stone satin. Lots of plaster falling off the walls. They had the plasterer in first to skim, then I followed sorting out cracks, mist coating and final coating. All the white areas are going to have fitted cupboards. It's going to look fab when finished. I will be back to sort out skirts once units are fitted. Next post will be their ensuite....
