Before the harvest has even been gathered from Nine acre meadow signs of Autumn are strong.
Almost ripe Brambles, Hawthorn, and Holly Berries, Rose hips, and the final flurry of the Thistle. I always say how quickly time goes but this year it's in the blink of an eye. Keep your eyes on the hedgerows, they are full of surprises.

Well that is it for our wildflower meadow for this year, it has been harvested during the sunny spell. It has to be done quickly given such a narrow time frame, and of course, the weather conditions.
It smells gorgeous, the smell of newly mown grass, floral, and almond.
It is still worth taking a look, but in the meantime take a walk along the Southbank of the river. This isn't cut and wildflowers are in abundance.
As you can see, Pickle loves a roll in the hay ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ˜„
Enjoy the sunshine everyone, and enjoy your day x

My first Orchid sighting of the year in nine acre meadow. I haven't been in a field all week due to being ill. This was perfect on my first visit back.
These fields just never fail to surprise ๐Ÿชป

Make sure to go and see our wildflower meadow soon, it is absolutely stunning this year ๐Ÿ˜
We have had issues the last 2 years with it. One year there was a heatwave and drought conditions, the other was torrential rain. Both took a huge toll on the meadow, with very few flowers and a small harvest.
We had our grazier put 20 tups in the field in spring and that has made a huge difference. They have removed the moss, fertilised the field, and no doubt distributed the seeds around. It looks fantastic.
Go soon and see what a variety of flora there is ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒบ๐Ÿ’ฎ๐Ÿต๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฎ๐ŸŒบ๐Ÿ’ฎ๐ŸŒธ

Good morning, it is more than half way through January and I still haven't wished you all a happy New Year. So Happy New Year to you all, I hope it's going well.
Me and Pickle are not seeing much daytime at the moment, when we do it is just fog, not great conditions for photography! But the days are gradually getting longer so soon I will be back out with my camera.
Just for now you can have a look at what we offer on the 2 market stalls ran by Richmondshire Landscape Trust.
We are there 7 days a week now so always someone to talk to about the work we do, and how you can get involved.
All the profits from both stalls go to the trust for maintenance and upkeep of the land, every little helps.
I will be back very soon with some new photos for you, I promise.
I the meantime take a look at what's around you, what is new, what is different? Take it all in and enjoy.

Hello, and a very Merry Christmas to you all, have a wonderful day ๐Ÿ˜Š
I haven't taken many photos lately, since the market stall has gone full time. We have now got two stalls and they both open 7 days a week, so I haven't seen daylight since this began.
Hopefully now the shortest day has passed we will get a bit more daylight each day, a few seconds will make a difference, before long it will be Spring, times passes so quickly.
I spotted the first Snowdrops of the season, it was on the 11th December, which is the equal earliest date I have seen them on the Trusts land. Now the Snowdrops have appeared it is only a matter of time before we have much more flora appearing, beginning another cycle.
I went to Whitefields to see Elaine and her team of dedicated volunteers working away. Under the guidance of Jack, of Ape Tree Services they planted approximately 450 mixed saplings continuing the previously started hedgerow. These will look stunning as they grow and provide great habitats for birds and other wildlife.
The sunrises have been magnificent, very colourful and dramatic.
I have enjoyed looking at the small stuff in some of our woodland when I did manage a couple of daylight hours. I cannot wait until lighter days, I never wish time away, but when you don't see much of the light it really counts.
Anyway, I will stop waffling, go and enjoy your Christmas dinners, your families, and don't forget to take a walk outdoors, there is no better feeling than getting wrapped up cosy and embracing nature.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
