This is a sample of an old limecrete floor. It's lump lime with 10/15mm gravel, also bits of straw. Alot of the lumps of lime had still not cured after 200yrs and can be scooped out like soft putty that was mixed yesterday, but still a hard solid floor..

When you know its history you have to know what it loves and more importantly what it hates.
