For a long time, “I don’t have time” was my biggest excuse.
Running a business, constantly pricing jobs, answering calls and messages, trying to keep everything moving… then coming home and being a dad to 4 young children, with pretty much every spare minute spent taking them to football, clubs, hobbies and everything else that comes with family life and being a husband
And I wouldn’t change any of that for the world. ❤️
But somewhere along the way, I stopped making any time for myself.
I kept telling myself I was too busy. I’d start next week. I’d do it when work calmed down. I’d do it when I had more time…
The truth is, the extra time was never going to magically appear. I had to make it.
So 3 months ago, I decided to stop making excuses and start putting my health first and try and get in better shape for our holiday
That’s meant early starts while the kids are still in bed, changing what I eat, being more disciplined and finally joining the gym and pushing myself further.
3 months. 3 stone down. 💪
But the biggest transformation isn’t just what you can see in these two photos.
I feel better.
I’ve got more energy.
I feel more confident.
And most importantly, I feel like I’m finally doing something for me.
I’ll always be busy. The business will always need me. My children and wife will always come first.
But I’ve realised that looking after myself doesn’t mean taking time away from them — it means becoming a healthier, happier and stronger version of myself for them.
Still a long way to go, but for the first time in years I’m genuinely enjoying the process.
You don’t find time. You have to make time.
And sometimes the best investment you can make is in yourself. 💪🔥
