๐ŸŒฟ MYTH BUSTED! ๐ŸŒฟ

Thank you to everyone who took part in yesterdayโ€™s Garden Myth challenge! ๐Ÿ’š

The statement was:

๐Ÿ’ง โ€œWatering your plants in the middle of a hot, sunny day burns the leaves.โ€

โœ… Answer: MYTH!

While itโ€™s often said that water droplets act like tiny magnifying glasses, research has shown that they donโ€™t typically cause leaves to burn.

However, watering in the early morning or evening is still the best approach. ๐ŸŒฑ

Why?

โœ”๏ธ Less water is lost through evaporation.
โœ”๏ธ Plants have more time to absorb moisture.
โœ”๏ธ The soil stays hydrated for longer, helping plants cope with warmer weather.

Thanks for joining inโ€”we loved seeing your guesses! Keep an eye out for our next Garden Myth and see if you can stump yourself (or your friends!). ๐Ÿ‘€

๐ŸŒณ THIS OR THAT? ๐ŸŒณ

If you could only choose one for your dream outdoor space, which would it be?

๐Ÿ‘ A beautifully manicured lawn
โค๏ธ A colourful garden full of flowers

Tell us your choice in the commentsโ€”and more importantly, why? ๐Ÿ‘‡

Thereโ€™s no right or wrong answer, and weโ€™d love to see what everyone prefers!

๐ŸŒž Heatwave Reminder! ๐ŸŒฟ

With temperatures set to soar over the coming days, now is the perfect time to give your garden a little extra care.

๐Ÿ’ง Water plants early in the morning or later in the evening to reduce evaporation.
๐ŸŒฑ Newly planted flowers, shrubs and trees will need a little more attention than established plants.
๐ŸŒพ Leave your grass slightly longer during hot spells to help it retain moisture and stay healthier.
๐Ÿ If you can, leave out a shallow dish of fresh water for birds, bees and other wildlife.

A little care now can make a big difference to keeping your garden looking its best throughout the summer.

How are you keeping your garden thriving during the heat? Let us know in the comments! ๐Ÿ‘‡

Not every busy worker wears a hi-vis vest... ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒธ

While our teams are busy maintaining outdoor spaces, nature has its own workforce hard at work.

๐Ÿ Bees pollinating flowers.
๐Ÿฆ‹ Butterflies supporting biodiversity.
๐Ÿฆ Birds helping to control pests.
๐ŸŒผ Wildflowers providing vital habitats.

Great grounds maintenance isn't just about keeping spaces tidyโ€”it's about helping people and nature thrive together.

Next time you're outside, take a moment to appreciate the wildlife that's working just as hard as we are. ๐Ÿ’š

Have you spotted any interesting wildlife recently? We'd love to see your photos in the comments!

๐ŸŒฟ The answer is... Foxglove! ๐ŸŒฟ

Did you guess correctly? ๐Ÿ‘

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our latest Guess the Plant challenge โ€” we can't wait to do more ! ๐Ÿ’š

Here are a few fascinating facts about Foxgloves (Digitalis purpurea):

๐ŸŒธ Native to: Much of Europe, including the UK, where they thrive in woodlands, hedgerows and gardens.

๐Ÿ Great for: Bees and other pollinators! Their distinctive bell-shaped flowers are rich in nectar and provide an important food source during the summer months.

๐Ÿ“… Flowers: Typically from June to August, producing tall spikes of vibrant pink, purple, white or cream blooms.

โ˜€๏ธ Prefers: Partial shade to full sun in well-drained soil, making them a beautiful addition to many garden settings.

โš ๏ธ Did you know? Although Foxgloves are stunning to look at, every part of the plant is poisonous if eaten, so care should be taken around children and pets.
