Hope everyone is enjoying the Bank Holiday ☀️

Joe and I are spending today making the final preparations for our two new members of staff starting tomorrow.

Our silver van is now also wrapped and ready to go, looking awesome! Thanks to MFX Wraps for another fantastic job.

It’s an exciting time for Tide Electrical and something we’ve been working towards for a while, so we’re really looking forward to welcoming them both to the team.

What are you up to today? Hopefully something a little more relaxing than us!

Bank Holiday Monday is nearly here… what’s everyone got planned?

Living around Rustington and Worthing, we’re pretty lucky with the amount we’ve got on our doorstep. A walk along the beach, somewhere nice for lunch, a day out with the family or simply staying at home and enjoying the extra day off.

Hopefully the West Sussex weather decides to cooperate as well. ☀️

Another week lighting up people’s lives 💡

Sorry, we couldn’t resist that one.

We’ve been out and about across Angmering, Yapton and Rustington this week, with lighting being a bit of a theme.

New outside lights, kitchen lighting, work in a rather sunny conservatory and even adjusting a motorised window! It’s been a good mixture of jobs across the local area.

We always enjoy seeing how much difference the right lighting can make to a home, particularly when everything comes together at the end of the job.

Where did summer go? ☀️

It feels like five minutes ago we were heading into the summer holidays, and somehow we’re already at the final Bank Holiday weekend of August.

It won’t be long until the kids are back at school, the mornings start getting a little darker and, of course, the school-run traffic returns to Rustington and Worthing…

We’re not quite ready to call summer over just yet though.

Looking for something to do this Bank Holiday weekend? 🎨

The Arundel Festival of the Arts is on until Monday 31st August, and there’s plenty happening around the town.

One of the highlights is the Arundel Gallery Trail, with over 100 artists and makers across 39 different venues. It runs from 12–5pm each day, so it’s a great excuse to have a wander around Arundel and discover a few places you might not normally visit.

Bank Holiday Monday is also the Festival’s Family Fun Day, with activities and entertainment taking place around the town before the festival comes to a close in the evening.

We’re lucky to have events like this happening right on our doorstep in West Sussex.

A recent project we've completed for Washington Parish Council involved upgrading the floodlighting at the local tennis courts. 🎾

The existing sodium halide floodlights had reached the end of their life, so we replaced them with these modern Ansell LED floodlights. The new fittings provide a much cleaner appearance, improved light output and far better energy efficiency, helping to reduce ongoing running costs.

The one thing we underestimated? The scaffold tower...

It seemed like a brilliant idea when we started, but after dismantling it, wheeling it along and putting it back up at every single lighting column, it quickly became the part of the job we were least looking forward to! 😂

Sometimes taking the longer route is the right one though. Doing the job properly takes time, and we're really pleased with how the finished installation has turned out.

If you're responsible for a parish council, sports club, school or commercial premises and your exterior lighting is due an upgrade, we'd be happy to discuss your project.

What’s the best beach in West Sussex? 🌊

With summer starting to wind down, we thought we’d settle an important local debate…

Which West Sussex beach gets your vote?

We recently went down to Elmer Beach and, to be honest, we thought it was fantastic. A lovely stretch of beach, nice and peaceful, and definitely somewhere we’ll be heading back to.

But there are plenty of good choices around here. Rustington, Goring Gap, East Preston, Littlehampton, Climping… everyone seems to have their favourite.

So, where’s yours and why?

Bonus points if you know a quieter little spot that most people overlook. 👀
