It’s been a busy month for Batten ⛏⛏

This job was for Wales & West utilities which involved laying a new 90m gas main to replace the old one.

The job consisted of saw cutting a 300mm wide trench, hammering out the tarmac then digging out the trench line. Once the trench was open the engineers worked on the existing line and started to lay new pipe. After the new pipe was in it was time to sand the trench and begin to backfill with foam concrete. The final 100mm was then tarmac’d to match the existing road 👍

The 2.7t kubota, 5.5t CAT and 3T JCB hydrostatic dumper worked perfectly 👌

The job consisted of putting in a new heating oil tank base up on their bank and removing the old one.

Final job for 2022 all wrapped up 🙌

A severely damaged private lane had to be put back into good state. The original cracked tarmac was cut and squared off, taken down to stone level, extended at stone level and then retarmacked to fit flush with the existing road.

The top soil had grass seed rolled in straight after. A happy local farmer 👍👍

This week Mark (Action man) was working in St Austell alongside Wales & West.
The week involved trenching and a process called “Live gasmain insertion” which was carried out with a unique pushing machine attached to the 2.7 mini digger.
