One of today’s call-outs ⚡️
Customer reported intermittent tripping of both the EV MCB and RCD, at different times (not my install).
A few key checks carried out:
Insulation resistance ✅
RCD test ✅
Maximum demand/current draw ✅
All checks gave good results, with no indication of an issue with the fixed wiring or the charger being overloaded.
At this stage, everything is pointing towards an issue with one of their vehicles. Unfortunately, that car wasn’t at home during my visit, so I couldn’t carry out any further testing.
I’ve left the customer with a few diagnostic checks to carry out and they’ll update me with their findings.
