The superstructure is constructed using a novel and innovative interlocking construction technology system, consisting of steel framed interlocking panels. The panels are manufactured off-site in a factory environment, minimising site time and the inevitable construction delays often encountered due to inclement weather. This system requires less transport so reducing traffic congestion and pollut
ion. It is delivered to site as panels, which are quickly erected on arrival, and the whole building can be transported in just a few vehicles. Reduced vehicle movements minimise disruption to the local environment and its residents during construction. A well-sealed, high performing building envelope will help to minimise the amount of energy needed. It is also intended that this is a healthy building, with lots of natural daylight; natural ventilation; and as many natural, recycled or recyclable materials as possible. It is designed with a βcradle to cradleβ philosophy, and can be dismantled and moved to a new location if ever needed.
