Every now and then, we get asked to speak to the media and share our experience.
About a week ago, I had a really enjoyable conversation with Esther Addley from The Guardian newspaper about how extreme weather can affect doors and windows, and why regular maintenance by a competent professional can make such a difference.
It was refreshing to see an article focusing on practical advice, rather than the usual doom and gloom around rogue traders and poor workmanship.
The reality is that extreme temperatures can have a surprising effect on doors, frames, locks and hardware. A door that starts to feel different when locking or unlocking is often giving you an early warning.
If your door or window doesn’t feel right, get it checked before a small adjustment becomes a much bigger and more expensive repair.
Regular maintenance can save damaged components, extend the life of your locks and, importantly, prevent you being left with a door that won’t open or secure properly when you need it most.
If you’re looking for a professional locksmith, we’d always recommend starting with the Master Locksmiths Association and finding an MLA Approved Company in your area. Find an MLA Locksmith.
There are also many excellent independent locksmiths out there, so do your research and check who you’re employing.
As HalesLocks is an MLA Approved Company, we didn’t simply get invited into a club. We had to meet the association’s requirements and pass the necessary assessment process.
Vetted. Inspected. Qualified.
Can you say the same about the person you’re trusting with your security?
When it comes to advice, workmanship and your security, who do you trust?
Don’t Chance it, HalesLock it.
