Currently working on a dagger for a fellow DND nerd.

Replacing the cheap plastic grip on the handle with a custom wooden one, trying to decide between ebonizing the wood or making the grain stand out as strong as I can to highlight that knot in the top.

While my business isn't mobile, I'm reducing my prices to reflect the fact that I cant pick up or drop off anywhere near as far and require most people to come to me.

If you wanted to try me out but didn't want to full send it on the cost, now's your chance because I'm dropping them all a decent amount.

Price list for a single item:
Single cutting implements (I can't use the scary word that begins with k and goes in your kitchen draw or facebook gets upset). - £0.75 per inch
Straight grooming and hairdressing scissors - £1 per inch
Curved grooming scissors are off the menu for now
Manicure scissors - £2
Clippers are also off the menu for now, I'll put a post up when they're back available.
Chisels - £4+ dependant on size and condition
Small axes and hatchets - £5
Larger axes, for e.g splitting mauls - £6+ depending on size
Garden shears - £4-7 depending on size.
Discounts apply on more than 1 tool and increase per tool.
Heavily damaged items will be priced on inspection.
Maintenance done before the edge is completely dull gets a further discount as it drastically decreases the time to do the job.
Have a chat with me to workout a routine for this.

Stumbled into the opportunity to get a high quality recording of the sharpening process, so as promised, here is the improved demonstration of what I do to your kit when you ask me to get it sharp again.

I've cut down the video to just show a clip of each step in the process of sharpening the paring knife in this job and the paper test after of both the knives afterwards.

I use the same techniques used on whetstones and diamond sharpening plates, this allows me to carefully and slowly take your edge tools sharper than new, while needing less space than whetstones for liquids.

I use a multitude of stropping compounds depending on the steel the tool is made of, some steels can go further than others but all tools that come through my hands leave them sharp enough to take a finger without effort...I know, because I nearly cut the tip of my own thumb off while making dinner...

Last test handle shaped up for the smith today.

Testing the curve on the bottom with a small swell too as it gives a really nice and comfortable leverage point when holding the hammer against the surface that needs flattening, while also keeping your hand nice and safe out the way of the other hammer you smack this one with.

Next step, get the decision on a style and get the proper handle made.

2/3 fully restored, just gotta get the last one done now, this is gunna be a TASK with the bevels having worn off to a fairly significant degree haha.

As you can see, I restore these tools by hand, taking care to maintain the heat treatments and leave it's signs of age intact and visible so your kit tells it's story.

The rust on the smaller one has left an interesting pattern, I suspect it's rusted the original grinding marks wider and left this pattern that looks almost like a wood grain.

Got started on a restoring a clients chisels today, love seeing the difference between the start vs mid then end of the process.

Currently about mid way through depending on if they want them rehandling too.

Should have a better video of the sharpening process up soon too, just sorting the footage for it atm.

Bit of a late one for it, but me n the missus are doing valentines this weekend instead of last as it's more convenient for us.

For valentines this year I've made her a mushroom shaped ring box to replace the engagement rings box it came in as it's starting to get a bit worn after being used as the nightly ring storage box.

I figure, it's quite nice and might grab someone's eye, if you like it and want one, get it touch, if you know someone who might, please tag em and we can get some put together for people.

It's completely hand made by myself, in the majority being traditionally carved and hollowed out with a Dremel as I don't have the traditional kit to do that and finally lightly scorched inside to make the ring stand out.

I'm currently working out a set of items to sell at makers markets etc.

Finished up the first of the handle prototypes for the blacksmith today.

These aren't the final product, I'm making these with pallet wood and random bits I have lying around to make 3 different style handles cheap and quick to have him test the grip and ergonomics of each and let me know his preferred type.

This is the shorter, admittedly a little too short, straight handle with a ridged grip for the basic style handle.

I'll be making a longer straight handle with a swell at the end for a leverage point and one with a curved end for the same test of a leverage point.

Being the absolute genius I am, I knackered the phone that had the before photos.

I've been restoring this for the last couple of days, you'll have to trust me as I don't have the photos but it was rustier than a shipping container in a swamp.

Brought back it's shine, but left the pits from the rust to show it's age, gave the handle a freshen up, new stain and sealed with boiled linseed oil. Lastly, a new convex edge to cut the grass and bushy stuff without chipping or damage when it hits a hidden branch.

The clients granddad's old manual lawn mower lives new life again.

Get in touch should you have any old tools from your parents, or their parents, or hell, even their parents, I'll happily restore them back to pristine and ready for use without charging you so much you need to resurrect them and put them back to work to pay it off.
