From wasted space to practical storage.

This cupboard was little more than an awkward, unusable recess that offered very little storage. By redesigning the space from the ground up, I transformed it into a fully functional built-in shelving unit, making use of every inch available.

The project also involved resizing and altering the door opening before carefully hanging and fitting a new oak door to suit the new aperture. The result is a cupboard that not only looks like it has always been part of the home but provides a huge amount of practical storage where there was previously very little.

It’s a great example of how thoughtful joinery can completely transform an overlooked space into something both beautiful and genuinely useful.

Built something a little different for my own kids to enjoy 🏴‍☠️ A bespoke treehouse and adventure play area, handcrafted with plenty of imagination and built to last. ❤️🌳

One room. Endless possibilities.

This was a fantastic project.
The brief was to create a bespoke garden building that could serve multiple purposes while making the most of a medium-sized space.

The finished room now provides:
• A dedicated home office
• A bespoke oak-topped bar for entertaining and barbecues
• A comfortable guest area with space for a sofa bed
• A home gym
• A media area where the kids can relax and watch films

To achieve this, I designed and built bespoke joinery throughout, including a handcrafted oak bar and shelving, a feature media wall, wall panelling, a coffered panel ceiling and shiplap walls, creating a warm, high-end finish.

The building is also fully insulated—including the floor—making it incredibly efficient to heat and comfortable to use all year round.

A great example of how thoughtful design and quality craftsmanship can transform one room into a truly versatile space that the whole family can enjoy.

From tired and worn out to a staircase the customer can be proud of.

This staircase had seen better days and needed much more than a quick refresh. Every tread and riser was carefully prepared before being fully clad in solid oak, creating a timeless finish that completely transforms the hallway.

Attention to detail is what makes the difference, from the seamless bullnose bottom step to the crisp, clean finish throughout. The new oak staircase now complements the Victorian-style tiled floor perfectly and has given this entrance hall a completely new lease of life.

Sometimes the biggest challenge isn’t fitting new joinery—it’s putting right work that should have been finished properly in the first place.

I was asked to rescue this oak staircase after it had been installed and left in a very poor condition. Excessive filler had been used throughout the joints, large amounts of oil had been applied, and the overall finish fell well short of what the customer expected.

Every part of the staircase had to be painstakingly scraped back to bare timber, the joints carefully reworked and refilled where necessary, before being sanded and re-oiled to bring the natural beauty of the oak back to life.

The restoration didn’t stop there. I also refinished the oak skirting boards, architraves, internal doors and the oak wall panelling, ensuring everything matched and achieved the high-quality finish the customer originally wanted.

Restoration work like this takes time, patience and attention to detail, but seeing quality oak brought back to life makes every hour worthwhile.

Another door put right.

This oak door had originally been installed by someone else, but unfortunately the workmanship had caused the latch area to split badly, leaving the door beyond a reliable repair.

I was asked to replace the door and fit it correctly, ensuring clean, accurate mortices, smooth operation and a quality finish that will stand the test of time.

Sometimes it’s worth getting the job done properly the first time—but when things don’t go to plan, I’m always happy to put them right.

Hallway Transformation Complete ✔️

A simple wall can completely change the feel of a space.

For this project, I designed and installed bespoke wall panelling, starting with the framework and layout, before priming and preparing everything ready for decoration. The final coat in this deep green really brings the panelling to life and creates a high-end, timeless finish that works perfectly with the oak doors and flooring.

From first fixing through to the finished look, it’s great to see the transformation from bare wall to a feature that completely changes the character of the hallway.
