This maybe a bit of a long shot, but I wonder if there are any Architects who are part of this group who have an interest in collaborating on an individual project basis? Honest Architects has an increasing workload particularly with property investors and we cover a good chunk of the country with recent schemes as far afield as Southampton (where we are based) to as far north as Nottingham (32 bedrooms HMO). We are continually looking to build our collaborative team and if you or anyone you know would be interested then do please invite them to get in touch. There is now an abundance of software and technology to enable us to work remotely. But do not be fooled. It is not as straightforward as it seems. Besides the technological side it is the communication side that is critical because any professional service whether architectural or something else will be largely be based on building relationships, as indeed any business is.

We have developed many tricks and tips. We have developed insights into choice of technology that can help but it is really the methodology that matters. The key is making sure that there is a benefit of working virtually for your client, your team and for yourself. It has to be a win-win or a win-win-win situation to make it work well. With careful thought and planning and knowledge base it can actually work very well. We first started working with overseas admin people in our property business. The property networks are full of talks about how to work remotely and how to systemise. There are training courses available too. There are also people providing VA services or recruitment for VAs. We started building an overseas workforce for admin and repetitive things for our property business.
