Finished a job that we have been working on over the last few weeks yesterday.
The brief given by the customer was to remove an old shed plus base, then build a seating area and structure for their BBQ to go in.
Once the shed was removed it was clear that the original drywall would need to be rebuilt for safety reasons. We then installed 5m² of new Indian pavers to replace the old concrete slabs from the shed base and designed a block seating area with sandstone tops as well as a purpose built outdoor kitchen area. The whole area was given a coat of Ecorend to really finish it off.
🦆 Duck was very happy

After an infestation of ground Elder in the lawn, I was asked if I could install a barrier 2.5 feet deep to prevent it encroaching into the flower beds.
We dug a footing and back filled with a strong concrete mix before using stone that was onsite already to add a retaining wall to give the garden levels rather than the original slope that was discussed.
It's worked out well and now we have been back to clear the area of rubble and I usable soil it's looking great and keeping that pesky ground Elder back.

Back to a repeat customer this week to complete the next and final stage of their garden tidy up and help reduce the time they have to spend weeding and clearing debris from the trees year round.
All stones removed and concrete poured.

To help improve their already fantastic outside spaces, Eyam Primary School tasked me with relaying and extending their old paved area. We then volunteered some time to erect a number of sheds and a sandpit that had been waiting to be installed.
Ready for the kids to enjoy before they all head off for their summer break.

Always said the best part of any job is the before and after photos.
Two days well spent clearing this rear garden for some of my repeat customers.
Nature will soon take over when life gets busy but we have taken this space back to a blank canvas and rebuilt two sleeper beds ready for whatever the future holds for this patch of garden. Can't wait to see what they decide to do with it.

These two gable ends had cement render on them that was holding in the moisture and slowly destroying the stone underneath.
Over the last few weeks we have removed any render that remained and raked out the old pointing before applying a hot lime mortar mix complete with flaunching.
The result is a building that can now breath and looks like it belongs in the centre of a Derbyshire village.
