To help improve their already fantastic outside spaces, Eyam Primary School tasked me with relaying and extending their old paved area. We then volunteered some time to erect a number of sheds and a sandpit that had been waiting to be installed.

Always said the best part of any job is the before and after photos.
Two days well spent clearing this rear garden for some of my repeat customers.
Nature will soon take over when life gets busy but we have taken this space back to a blank canvas and rebuilt two sleeper beds ready for whatever the future holds for this patch of garden. Can't wait to see what they decide to do with it.

These two gable ends had cement render on them that was holding in the moisture and slowly destroying the stone underneath.
Over the last few weeks we have removed any render that remained and raked out the old pointing before applying a hot lime mortar mix complete with flaunching.
The result is a building that can now breath and looks like it belongs in the centre of a Derbyshire village.

With all this heat it means little trips out of an evening to keep the newly pointed walls damp.

We were all hands on deck in April to transform the Grasshopper Cafe outdoor spaces.
We removed the old patio that had limited space and limited access due to iron railings and installed 23m² of Indian pavers with a wrap around step to allow access from all angles. We then replaced the old concrete wall toppers with Indian pavers so that new bar stools could be bought to offer more seating opportunities with the amazing views.
We then installed a large wood store, new bike storage and repaired areas of the render that were looking tied or had failed over the years.
The final touch was a brand new resin bonded stone front, the old resin bound system that we have replaced had been applied on an inappropriate base so had sadly failed.
However the new system is fit for purpose and means that all the outside areas are now ready for the summer to be enjoyed by all.

Business has never been so busy as it is at the moment, so thank you to all my new customers and those that keep asking me back again and again.

This is a recent job we have completed in Dove Holes. A traditional lime mortar repoint of this beautiful cottage. At some point someone had pointed it with sand and cement and sadly this has resulted in lots of the stone faces becoming damaged and dampness getting inside.
However I'm sure you'll agree that the lime really makes the cottage glow and now breath.

Fence repair at Eyam school this morning.
An old concrete fence post had blown and fallen down damaging part of the original fence so rather than patch up the broken area we decided to replace the two sections and replace the post.
Just in time for back to school Monday.
Duck enjoyed this job as bird feeders were on hand throughout. 🦆
