Peace over Perfection Brush Calligraphy Inky Doodles Workshop… Toodlepip Style!
Join me (Lu from Toodlepip Designs) for an afternoon of your very own signature style brush calligraphy. This is NOT your ordinary brush calligraphy course, there will be no set lines, not a set font - this is all about you creating your own signature style which is even more special!
Leaving perfection at the door, this workshop is aimed for you to “free flow” with the brush, doing what feels right and creating a beautiful piece of art for you to take home, frame and enjoy forever. We’ll be using the highest quality Tom’s Studio Inks, to create a A3 sized Peony scene and quote to read “Bloom your own way”
We shall have a few practice messy sheets to go through first, to make sure you’re feeling content when coming to put the whole piece together. The practice sheets will be a mixture of plain and marked up for the Peony design. There will be ample opportunity to work on your letter formation.
I will be on hand to run through how to use / hold the brush, how to use the inks, whether to add water to get an ombre effect. I will help with composition and will give guidance on how to get the lettering just right.
The main aim of the workshop is for 1) you to leave with a floral painting you are proud to put up on the wall at home and 2) to feel excited that you’ve just created your very own signature style of brush calligraphy!
