βοΈ Heatwave Home Tip from Kingsbridge Living βοΈ
With the warmer weather here, you may notice your doors and windows becoming stiff, tight or harder to open and close.
This can happen because heat causes materials to naturally expand - especially during very hot days. In most cases, once temperatures cool down, your doors and windows will settle back again.
β
What can you do?
β’ Avoid forcing handles or locks
β’ Keep tracks and hinges clean
β’ Open and close gently
β’ If safe to do so, ventilate rooms to reduce heat build-up
β’ Wait until cooler parts of the day before trying again
If we adjust a door too much during extreme heat, it may become loose or draughty once the temperature drops again - so sometimes the best solution is to monitor it first.
