💧➡️🌿 From Water Feature to Rain Garden

This morning we carried out a full drain down, clean and inspection of an existing water feature at G&M HQ.

Unfortunately, after a thorough assessment, the feature has reached the point where repair is no longer a practical long-term solution.

The good news? This isn’t the end of the story.

Drawing on our experience in water management, habitat creation and natural landscaping, we’ll now be transforming the area into a rain garden.

Rain gardens are designed to capture and manage rainfall naturally, creating a feature that not only looks great but also supports biodiversity and works with the environment rather than against it.

The new space will:

🌿 Capture rainwater naturally
🐝 Support pollinators and wildlife
🌱 Add seasonal colour and interest
💧 Improve drainage and water management
♻️ Create a more sustainable landscape feature

Sometimes the best solution isn’t to rebuild what’s there, but to create something even better.

Every detail of this North Norfolk wildlife pond was carefully considered, from the gravel regeneration zones and habitat log stacks to the shallow gravel margins designed for amphibians and aquatic wildlife.

We even imported moss from the Scottish Highlands to ensure the finishing touches matched the quality of the build.

Some see a pond.

From falling apart to full-on peaceful retreat 🤯✨

This pond was only installed in August 2025 by another landscaper… and it was already collapsing.

Leaking liner, unstable rocks, poor structure the whole thing was failing fast.

After ABBCO got involved, it’s now exactly what it should’ve been from day one: a tranquil, natural looking pond that actually works and looks beautiful.

Flowing water, solid stonework, proper planting, and a space the homeowners can actually enjoy 🌿💧

Proof that cutting corners costs more in the long run.

Big demand = bigger action 💪

We’ve officially introduced a dedicated maintenance day in Wymondham to keep up with the growing number of ponds needing regular care. If you’ve been waiting for a slot, this is your sign to get booked in.

Today didn’t stop there either
We then headed over to Bradwell, Great Yarmouth for a bit of a rescue mission 🚨

This pond was seriously spiraling, poor water quality, struggling system, the works.
We carried out a full maintenance, swapped out the UV, and replaced the pump to get everything back on track.

Already seeing a huge turnaround 👌
