With temperatures forecast to exceed 25ยฐC this week, please take extra care when mixing and applying grouts and mortars.

โš ๏ธ Many manufacturers recommend avoiding the application of cementitious and resin based grouts during hot weather, particularly when temperatures exceed 20ยฐC. However, we know work still needs to continue. The key is adapting your methods to minimise rapid setting and reduced working times.

โ˜€๏ธ ๐‘๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ฆ๐›๐ž๐ซ: If the air temperature is 25ยฐC, your paving could easily be 30โ€“35ยฐC+ in direct sunlight.

๐Ÿ‘‡ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ ๐ญ๐จ๐ฉ ๐ญ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฌ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ค๐ž๐ž๐ฉ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ค๐š๐›๐ฅ๐ž:

Grout super early in the morning or later in the afternoon / early evening. You must avoid the hottest part of the day.

Use the coldest water available. Keep it shaded and add ice if necessary to reduce mix temperatures.

Only mix what you can comfortably use within the reduced working time.

Mixing generates heat. The faster and longer you mix, the more heat you put into the products particularly Flowpoint (mix at the lower end 3 mins), accelerating setting times.

Keep a hose or pressure washer nearby. In hot conditions, grout may need cleaning off sooner than usual.

Have materials, labour and equipment ready before mixing. In hot weather, every minute counts. Try to have at least two people on the job.

If the paving feels hot to the touch, the grout will feel it too. Keep materials cool, use cold water, work in smaller areas and expect products to set much faster than normal.

Weโ€™re looking for a part-time office team member to support with telephone and administrative duties.

๐Ÿ•˜ Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am โ€“ 1:00pm (20 hours per week)

Some flexibility will also be required to help cover holidays when needed.
