That's a wrap!
Out with the old an in with the new, after our late night call out and race to get our client back into production the other day, Yesterday was the day that normality was restored.
It almost seems like a sad day, The outgoing failed transformer was installed along with the now redundant HV switchgear in 1936, and given that we know that the premises was a war time munitions factory, it is probably safe to assume that the installation was originally all part of the war effort. So Yesterday felt like the end of an era!, However 84 years of unbroken service has to be a testament to quality and engineering.
The new replacement TX is a "dual ratio" 500KVA unit, as even during crisis management we are trying to plan for the future and make allowances for the likely event that the DNO is probably going to increase the supply voltage from 6.6KV to 11KV during future reinforcement works.
As always a massive thanks to our friends at Man Power Connections ltd who are always right behind us when we need them and continue to support us in all things HV! and a big thanks to all of my team, whom are the driving force behind our success.
Don't worry, The outgoing TX isn't necessarily destined for the crusher, After inspection we are going to try and find it a home.
