Recent completion of a roofline replacement project on a large detached period home in Sprowston for Mr and Mrs Smith.

The existing timber fascias, soffits, bargeboards, cladding and associated roofline components to the main house, front dormer, garage and rear porch were carefully removed and replaced with a complete new low-maintenance UPVC system.

Works included:

* Replacement fascias and soffits
* New bargeboards
* Shiplap cladding installation
* Replacement rainwater system in contrasting black finish
* Renewal of external timber detailing with maintenance-free alternatives

The finished result modernised the appearance of the property while retaining the character of the original period home.

We recently took on a challenging full roofline replacement for a detached home that needed a long-term upgrade.

The existing timber was deteriorating, and the property’s layout (multiple levels and porches) made maintenance difficult. Mr Storey wanted a "once and for all" solution to stop the cycle of repairs.

We installed a new uPVC roofline, that was colour-matched to the existing windows to give an improved appearance that requires zero ongoing maintenance.

Due to the length and exposure of this elevation, careful planning was required to ensure consistent alignment, correct falls for the rainwater system, and a high-quality finish throughout. The completed installation provides a durable, maintenance-free roofline system, significantly improving both the appearance and long-term performance of the property. Particular care was taken to ensure uniformity across the full 16m front elevation, resulting in a clean, balanced finish.

This project involved the full replacement of fascias, soffits and rainwater goods to a detached bungalow with a pan tile main roof and an extensive flat roof area. The objective was to renew the roofline, improve ventilation, and upgrade ageing rainwater systems with low‑maintenance components.

Original timber fascias and soffits showed signs of weathering and localised rot, particularly around gutter joints and flat‑roof abutments.

The property now benefits from a uniform, low‑maintenance roofline that complements the pan tile roof and tidies the junctions around the flat‑roofed areas.

The upgrade has enhanced kerb appeal and should reduce future maintenance costs, as UPVC fascias, soffits and rainwater goods require only periodic cleaning rather than cyclical painting.

This modern four-bedroom detached property, complete with a rear extension and double garage, presented a particular challenge when it came to maintaining the roofline. Due to the varying roof heights, accessing the fascias and soffits for regular decorating and repair work was awkward and costly. Any future maintenance would have required scaffolding to bridge the lower roof levels, significantly increasing expense and disruption for the homeowner.

The existing timber roofline was nearing the point where repainting and remedial work would soon be necessary. Rather than commit to ongoing maintenance cycles and repeated scaffolding costs, the homeowner wanted a long-term solution that offered peace of mind.

We installed a fully maintenance-free roofline system, replacing the original materials with white uPVC fascias and soffits, complemented by black Deepflow rainwater goods. This combination not only provides excellent durability and weather resistance but also gives a clean, modern contrast that enhances the overall appearance of the property.

The new system eliminates the need for future painting or repairs, removes the ongoing cost of access equipment, and ensures the roofline remains smart and functional for years to come. The homeowner was particularly pleased with the low-maintenance benefits and the reassurance that no further work will be required.T
