Not your average extension steel installation… 👷‍♂️🏗️

Once we opened up the existing structure, we uncovered an issue- the existing steels supporting the bathroom above were sitting much lower than anticipated.

Leaving them in position would have significantly compromised the head height within the new extension.

So, a new plan was needed.

The structure had to be fully propped, including both corners of the bathroom above, allowing us to safely remove the existing steels and first-floor joists before installing the new steelwork at the correct height.

A complex structural alteration that required careful planning, precision and, most importantly, an experienced team who knew exactly how to deal with the unexpected.

This is exactly why structural work isn’t just about installing steels- it’s about understanding how the entire building is being supported at every stage.
