🚨 NEW HIRE ALERT 🚨

We’re pleased to announce the latest addition to the SB Groundworks team…

Keir Starmer. 👷‍♂️

After seeing the size of some of the holes he’s managed to get the country into, we thought he’d be the perfect fit for our excavation division. 🤷‍♂️😂

With experience in digging deep, creating confusion, and leaving others to sort the mess out afterwards, we reckon he’ll fit right in on site.

All jokes aside, we’re still looking for the usual qualities here at SB Groundworks:
✔ Hard work
✔ Attention to detail
✔ Turning up on time
✔ Knowing which end of the shovel to hold

We’re not entirely convinced he’s got all four yet… but we’ll give him a chance. 😏

🏡 Another Stunning Transformation by the SB Team in Todmorden 🏡

This customer purchased their property with the driveway unfortunately left in a poor state by the previous owners. It was tired, uneven, and in desperate need of some attention.

That’s where the SB Team stepped in 👊

We carried out all necessary excavation works, regulated the levels throughout, installed the correct sub-base specification, and then finished the project with what we believe is the ultimate resin-bound system — the unbeatable VubaMac Base and Vuba Resin top coat 🔥

A massive shoutout to Jacob @ Vuba for getting the materials to site on time and undamaged, as usual. In an industry where logistics can make or break a project, it’s great to have suppliers you can rely on 🤝

For the finish, our customer selected the stunning Whernside blend, perfectly complemented by a Plaspave Moderna Charcoal block border. The contrast between the two materials creates a clean, modern finish while still retaining plenty of character.

We absolutely love this combination, and we think you’ll agree the finished result speaks for itself 😍

🏡 FROM BOGGY WASTELAND TO A STUNNING NEW DRIVEWAY & CAR PORT 🏡

This latest project in Todmorden started with a completely unused section of garden that stayed waterlogged for much of the year. The customer wanted a practical solution that looked like it had always belonged to the property... and we think we've delivered exactly that 👌

Starting with a clean slate, we:

✔ Fully excavated the area
✔ Installed a brand-new car port with integrated shed & lighting
✔ Constructed by the talented Lewis @ LJT Carpentry 🔥
✔ Installed a permeable sub-base using Type 1 MOT, membrane, eco grids and gravel
✔ Added a beautiful cobbled border throughout the project
✔ Wrapped the border around the existing tree feature
✔ Installed a traditional lamp post with a matching cobbled surround

The result is a driveway and car port that not only solves the drainage issues but also looks completely at home alongside the surrounding property. The choice of materials, the detailing, and the overall finish make this project feel truly period correct while still delivering modern practicality.

This is exactly what we love doing at SB Groundworks — creating spaces that are as functional as they are beautiful.
