🌑 OUR DIGITAL BUSINESS CARD HAS LANDED 🌑

Our digital business card has landed and we are super excited to use it. With NFC technology and a QR code, any client can access all our details including, website, contact details and our socials with a click of a button and store it all in their phone.

Not only are we doing our bit to save the planet by not ordering reems of business cards. This is also a quick and efficient way of exchanging details without the need for entering anything into a search engine.

It's no more paper business cards for us. We have gone digital and we are loving it!

🌱 SPRAY PAINTING BEDROOM FURNITURE

Our last post covered machine spray painted bedside units and chest of drawers. To complete the collection was some floor to ceiling built in wardrobes. This whole set was an expensive outlay for the client so to give it a new lease of life was a pleasure.

These bland beech veneer units have had a complete overhaul and now suit the clients taste and style. We think they are a pretty stunning set of furniture that are complemented by the beautiful Farrow and Ball colours on the walls of Worsted 284 and Stiffkey Blue 281.

🌱 SPRING CLEAN: BEDSIDE UNITS & CHEST OF DRAWERS 🌱

These bedside units started life as a bland beech Veneer with basic handles. The client wanted clean, contemporary and a colour that would work with her style and the colours she was having the bedroom decorated.

We went through colour swatches with the client to settle on a Farrow and ball colour ‘Downpipe’. We advised based on the details that the furniture had, that a spray application was the best to achieve the finish we were after.

After removal of fittings and the drawer faces taken off. Internally it was taped and protected with a brown paper protection as the insides didn’t require painting. Our full preparation checklist was then carried out. Followed by spray application of Tikkurila Otex Akva primer tinted grey. Finally completed with two tops coats of Tikkurila helmi 30 colour matched to ‘Downpipe’.

Once touch dry, then components were put back together and drawers slid back. Ideally left for 2 weeks for the paint to fully cure before use.

🌱 SPRING CLEAN: UPCYCLING INTRODUCTION 🌱

In our first installment we want to show you how spending out on new furniture can not only be unnecessary but expensive too. If your happy with the details in your furniture then just imagine changing the colour and the handles and fixings.

We carry out a thorough inspection of all areas requiring spray/hand painting by checking for imperfections which we repair, then follow with our high standard of full preparation, finally after a full inspection we prime, undercoat and apply two top coats of the chosen colour.

In order to have a beautiful finish, preparation is key. We pride ourselves on being methodical and meticulous throughout the entire process.

🌱SPRING CLEAN YOUR FURNITURE🌱

As we enter into February and as the Daffodils and Snowdrop's pop from the ground. Throughout this month we want to take you on a journey inside the home and look at refreshing and up-cycling your furniture.

As one of our services we provide, we want to exhibit our work to you with a display of before's and after's, and go through some of the processes to get that dream piece with colour changes, different finishes and new fixtures and fittings.

We will be covering a range of built in furniture, desks, wardrobes, dressers, chairs and even radiators.

✴️ TRENDS OF 2022: OUR FAVOURITE ✴️

✴️ 70's INSPIRED INTERIORS ✴️

Following on from our trends of 2022 we featured in our stories. We had to choose just one as our favourite.

We absolutely love the use of earthy tones on the walls, ceilings and woodwork and on pieces of art and accessories. Additonally the 70's inspired wallpaper with a contemporary twist is uplifting and bold.
The use of curved and colourful furniture teamed with the ever so populat ercol and G plan furniture is a style that won't age.
If your not so brave, introducing 70's pattern through rugs and artwork is a great place to start, even if the room is neutral.

As we head towards the endemic, get out there, get inspired and apply this look to your home even if it's just one space.

✨ HAPPY NEW YEAR ✨

We would like to wish all of our clients, family & friends a very Happy New year filled with happiness and success in 2022.
Over the month of January we want to share with you the colour trends of 2022 and what we can do to your interiors to improve your wellbeing by how we feel in our homes rather than how a room should look.
The pandemic has given us the opportunity to live in our homes to just be and understand what makes us feel good, if it's a colour, wallpaper, texture or a style.

Plastering: Awkward areas.

Plastering isn't just for 4 walls and a ceiling that meet.
This oak framed building project installed by we did the Plastering & Decorating for was fiddly at best of times.

All the plasterboard had to be precisely cut to fit like a puzzle with the oak,then the oak beams had to be completely wrapped and protected before any plastering took place.

I am sure you'll agree the results are stunning and the oak really pops out against that Hague Blue on the feature wall.

We would like to thank for recommending us to their client, it was an absolute pleasure to be involved.

Plastering: Artex Ceilings

At Wheatcroft we love to tackle an Artex ceiling and make it smooth.
Most Artex ceilings can never be repaired to match the existing pattern and lets be honest, that 70's look can probably stay where it is.
Artex ceilings can vary in thickness and some may require over-boarding with plasterboard and then skimmed, but largely most can just be skimmed as long as the correct preparation is carried out first.

Week 1: What we offer

Plastering.

We are competent in all aspects of plastering.
Before any plastering is carried out, we do a full assessment to check for cracks, weaknesses and any movement which we can then repair.

Our plastering work is always carried out to a high standard and a precise finish, allowing us to get the perfect outcome when decorating. Before plastering we always cover all flooring, windows, doors and furniture. We wrap all wall plug sockets as well as fixtures and fittings.
