This has been a long tough summer, especially for our nature... a constant succession of heatwaves, drought with no rain since early May (thank god for the showers in the last week) and the sight of plants dying everywhere...
The one positive I've noticed is the increase of butterflies and moths and in particular these beautiful hummingbird hawk moths which seem to be drawn to salvia (like this hotlips) and verbena bonariensis
I'm taking a break from it all and staying in Cornwall with my family where the weather has been a bit less extreme, and it shows as whilst nature has still struggled here too, there is much more greenery and a greater lushness
Looking forward to September and starting up paused projects again... 🌱🦋❤️
