A customer had lost power and needed someone to urgently attend. After the usual questions I opened the fuse board and saw the melted plastic under the RCD. They said could smell something, and upon closer inspection the busbar hadn't been caught inside the RCD but instead had been only touching the clamp. So over time the poor contact had caused overheating and burnt out the RCD. Stay safe everyone 👍🏻

First time using box strap, thought they was a bit of a gimmick but then had this issue on lath and plaster and it did the job, highly recommend, easy to use. Might try diagonally next time so I can still use the holes in the backbox.

Customer was quoted £1700 (although unknown spec of unit supplied, so no further comments can be made), I was less than a third. Please get in touch for a quote, I'd love to find out the full spec of what others have been quoted.
