☣️ Beware of Heracleum! ☣️
(Particularly Heracleum mantegazzianum)
This is one of those plants that falls under the label, "Kill it before it can grow!" 🌱
Also known as "Cow Parsnip", "Siberian Bearclaw" or "Giant Hogweed", this wild plant can cause 3rd degree burns on your skin. 👀
Like stinging nettles it has nettles that can inject a contact poison when coming into contact with your skin. ☠️
What many people don't realize is that is extremely dangerous during the day, but relatively harmless at night🌃. The reason is that the poison is photoactive. UV light activates the poison. It will grow up to about 6 feet high (max). 👆How clever is that!?
Use extreme caution when you remove this plant, including long sleeves, gloves and face-protection. 😷
