Today we finished a replacement LPG gas boiler, updating from from a 27 year old standard efficiency open vent boiler, to a shiny new Vaillant EcoTec Plus system boiler. The owners will now benefit from the latest high efficiency condensing boiler with a manufacturers 10 year parts and labour warranty.

A small selection of some of the jobs we've completed recently. Wood burning stoves, gas fires, vented and unvented hot water cylinders and high efficiency gas boilers. All ready for the winter and in most cases saving my customers energy which is a key requirement for most of us now.

This central heating header tank was recently encountered whilst attending to a dripping ball valve.
If you haven't checked the header tank and aren't able to access the loft, please call to arrange an appointment and I can take a look for you and advise on any remedial work required.
A new ballvalve was installed and the tank cleaned and returned to service.. The staining in the final photos was engrained in the plastic and couldn't be removed but isn't detrimental to the operation of the central heating system.

The main problem with the sludge is when it gets into the the system it can block the waterways within the boiler, pump or radiators causing anything from an irritating noise to a complete loss of heating of the radiators and domestic hot water.

Due to the the current difficult times I just wanted to let you know that I will be available to assist with urgent jobs such as gas and water leaks and boiler/ water heater issues that affect the supply of hot water and/or heating.
To stay safe myself and to comply as best as I can with the latest government directive I will wear disposable gloves and a face mask whilst in your home and would ask that we keep a safe distance apart during the visit.
All non essential work will be postponed until the Covid 19 crisis is over.

After 31 years with Roger Treagust/Grate Fyres, I’m now continuing as a sole trader serving the same community and customers. Many small companies are experiencing difficulty trading and the ever increasing overheads and downturn in sales has sadly resulted in the closure of the former company.
Going forward I’m happy to help with Plumbing, including bathrooms, showers, replacement taps and water softeners, central heating, boilers and servicing, fires, fireplaces and wood burning stove. I’m also here for the irritating jobs like dripping taps and overflows from roof tank etc.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to getting my hands dirty again!
