We are working on a set of oak shelving units in the workshop this week. Each piece of timber is carefully selected, with the grain and natural variation considered so the finished run looks beautifully coherent. The process then moves through preparing the components, machining the details and assembling the pieces. It is a steady part of the workshop’s routine, and always satisfying to complete.

A floor‑to‑ceiling log store, with a hidden TV and drinks cabinet tucked neatly behind bifold doors.

It’s one of our favourite pieces — made to perfectly fit the alcoves, with WiFi‑controlled smart lighting that adds a soft, warm glow to the room on cosy evenings. A good example of the kind of fully bespoke work we take on, shaped around the space and the way it’s used.

A new project taking shape in the studio.

This bespoke shelving unit has been designed around a family piano, with reeded glass, soft integrated lighting and a layout shaped to the room.

The drawings are now complete, and we are looking forward to starting the making process in our Shenley workshop and bringing the piece to life.

A recent kitchen install in the Merton area, with a final hand‑painted finish to bring everything together. A light, airy space with a soft blue island adding a quiet pop of colour, creating a beautiful space to be in.

A recent read, Less by Patrick Grant, has shifted how I think about the things we choose to live with and the way we make them. It is thoughtful, eye opening, and well worth reading if you are interested in choosing things that last.

Grant writes about the difference between objects designed for a moment and those designed for a lifetime, and the idea has stayed with me. It is a quiet reminder to choose what endures and what feels right to live alongside.

This recent build wraps floor‑to‑ceiling cabinetry around a central fireplace, combining generous storage with a considered, timeless aesthetic. The design includes tall log stores, a concealed television and drinks cabinet, and a mix of cupboards, drawers and softly lit display units to create a warm, atmospheric feel.
