We're proud to have worked with The Food Museum in Suffolk on their Stores Building improvement project.

The museum needed a vertical platform lift that could handle two important roles, moving exhibition objects safely between floors, and providing accessible vertical access for staff and volunteers.

We supplied and installed our Swedish Style ILS 05K. The result is a fully accessible route between the ground-floor collection store and the upper-level offices, meeting room and library.

The Food Museum is the UK's only museum of food, sharing the story of how food is grown, made and eaten. It is open to visitors who can explore its 84-acre site and 17 historic buildings, take part in hands-on activities, try delicious food and more.

We're pleased to share our latest case study from Laurel Lane Primary School in Middlesex, Academy Trust.

The school required an access solution to overcome five steps between the main entrance and the lower floor classrooms, providing independent wheelchair access to pupils. Our GTLE platform stair lift was the ideal solution, installed during half term, with the rail wall-mounted to leave the existing floor completely intact.

When the stair lift at Filey Academy in North Yorkshire needed replacing, the school wasted no time in finding a solution to maintain wheelchair access for one of their students.

One day. That's all it took to remove an old, unreliable lift and install a brand new Tech Lift M4 external step lift at Colton Square in Leicester, a busy commercial development home to multiple businesses.

Disabled access charity Euan's Guide has run an annual Access Survey since 2014. It is the largest in the UK. The latest results reveal that disabled people are still facing significant barriers when planning everyday activities and are paying what campaigners call an “Accessibility Time Tax.”

2025 Euan’s Guide Access Survey – Key findings published by Independent Living

🔹 70% of disabled people say they spend extra time planning around accessibility.

🔹 53% spend 1–5 hours each week researching access before going out.

🔹 12% spend 6–20 hours a week on this additional planning.

🔹 83% say the extra effort increases stress or anxiety.

🔹 Only 13% feel confident visiting new places.

🔹 80% have experienced a disappointing trip or had to change plans due to poor accessibility.

🔹 85% say better access information would reduce the time they spend planning.
