A house that holds a crowd, and still feels quiet at 7am. Smoked oak either side of a recessed plaster panel, so the screen sits back as a shadow rather than an object. The fire runs low and long beneath it. Restraint isn't the absence of a statement — it's making room for one.

Every life already feels like a wine tasting 🍷

This bar in Formby project shares the room with the dining table, but it was never meant to read as an extension of it. The bar keeps its own material language — veined stone worktop, brass shelving fixed into position, glass-fronted wine storage built for real volume, not just for show — so it holds as a room within the room, not a shelf beside the table.

The space built for someone who already knows what a good one feels like doesn't get to be an afterthought.

A material study for an Alderley Edge family room brief - restraint as the design decision, not the compromise.
Currently being built.
A Meiger's project.

Two round marble coffee tables sit on fluted bronze plinths, chosen close enough in tone and grain to read as one material family with the wall behind them. Bouclé in a single warm neutral runs through sofa and armchairs, absorbing the room rather than competing with it.
Overhead, a chandelier of hand-blown glass drops is positioned only above the seating — the one place the light is asked to do more than illuminate.

Fluted oak panelling wraps the back wall, interrupted once by a bronze fretwork screen — the room's single ornamental gesture. Either side, reeded oak shelving is lit from within; each backlit niche holds one object, never more.

Several of our architecture-led interior projects across Cheshire and Merseyside are now reaching their final stages, each one bringing years of meticulous planning, craftsmanship and collaboration to life.

Also, we're continuing to shape flagship luxury interior design studio in the heart of Alderley Edge—a project that reflects not only who we are today, but where Meiger is heading.
