Back to school for me!
Swale formed around a village school's sports field, as part of their new playground and SuDS design - incorporating storm water run off from the school roof, to drain via this swale into the surrounding ground around the pitch.

The design incorporates various weirs, bridges, rocks and features to allow interactive play for the pupils too.
A clever, well thought out design that solves a problem and utilises the excess spoil into the overall design, ensuring no muck away costs.

Using my 2D guidance system and tiltrotator attachment, I was able to bring this design to life, accurately, ensuring all levels (and there were quite a few!), worked as designed. Its going to look great when its finished, the seed has germinated, and the school is able to fully utilise their playground once again.

With my enhanced DBS certificate and experience working in schools of various sizes, this project is an ideal example of how I can bring value and efficiency to your project - inside or outside of school.

Ducting for new bollard lights installed at a weekend to minimise disruption for this school in Hampshire. Not the most exciting job, but I am more than happy to help where I can - large or small tasks - they all require careful planning and ex*****on. These new lights will improve visibility for cars and pedestrians throughout the winter.

Access road widened at a local school to improve traffic flow, including new kerbs and ducting for bollard lights.
All completed over half term to minimise disruption.

Rejuvenated footpath for the local parish council completed this week.
After cutting back the vegetation, I installed new timber edging, and regraded the existing sub base before installing new self binding gravel as the finished surface.
A cost effective solution to give this footpath a new lease of life.

800m of duct run installed for a new fibre optic cable to supply a school's boarding house with reliable and fast internet. Installed with traceable warning tape as fibre is notoriously difficult to trace once buried.
This project included crossing two roads and three footpaths - all had to be kept open to traffic during the works.
A huge thanks to Tomlin Groundworks for his help with this project which was run in conjunction with several others across the campus and are now all complete ready for the new school year.

Groundwork complete for a 2025 Chelsea gardens final home at the Royal Hospital, just behind the show ground.
Reduce dig, tree pits, topsoil saved and formation levels, all ready to go once the show is over, we will transport the garden to its final home where it can be enjoyed for many years to come.

Site clearance ready for a new house near Basingstoke. Gunns Contractors broke out hard standing areas and foundations, then crushed these on site, to produce useable hardcore, ready for reuse in the new building.

Driveway refurb this week in Crookham Village. Old driveway removed and shingle saved for new soakaway which will solve the flooding problems the customer was experiencing from having NO DRAIN previously.
A new granite sett cross over was installed to keep the shingle in the drive and not spill onto the pavement. Gravel grids were then used to allow this shingle drive to feel less like a beach, make it easier to wheel the bins out, and keep the stones in place with car movements.

How do I do this?
By deliberately specialising in projects below £100k so I can continue to offer our clients - existing and new - the best possible service.
I achieve that by using better technology & equipment as well as having a broad skills base. I am not afraid to use my experience to suggest ways of saving money or speeding a project up.
Experienced in all sizes of project - from small extensions to large one off mansions, garden soakaways to attenuation tanks, shed bases to lift pits, footpaths to car parks - I put the same attention to detail in every project.

Ditch clearing this week. Two different machines on the same project allowing for even the tight spots to be maintained.
With increased frequency of heavy rain and prolonged wetter winters, maintaining existing water courses is a cost effective way of avoiding flooding.
And my advice to this customer was, lets clear your existing network of ditches and see if that improves your land drainage. Then we can look at spending money in the right targeted way to improve the remaining trouble spots. Judging by how many blocked outlets I found and cleaned out during the work, I suspect things to dramatically improve.
