Copper roofing requires skill, precision and an understanding of the material.

This roof was crafted as part of an extension we built alongside a Grade II listed building, where the detailing and choice of materials needed to work carefully with the existing historic features.

Copper is a particularly rewarding material to work with. It is durable, naturally weather-resistant and develops its distinctive patina over time, but achieving a clean, well-detailed finish requires experience and precision.

From forming and fixing the copper to getting the junctions, edges and detailing right, the quality of the finished roof comes down to the skill of the craftspeople behind it.

For us, this is where traditional craftsmanship remains important — understanding the material, taking care with the detail and getting the work right.

Great progress is being made on our latest new build project in North Norfolk, and it’s fantastic to see this bespoke home continuing to take shape.

What makes this project particularly special is the attention to detail and the way traditional materials and craftsmanship are being incorporated into a modern new build. The beautiful flint detailing reflects the character and heritage of the local area, helping the property sit naturally within its North Norfolk surroundings.

Our skilled team are bringing together traditional craftsmanship, specialist detailing and high-quality construction to create a home that is completely individual — proving that a new build doesn’t have to mean standard.

We are incredibly proud to showcase one of our sustainable new build projects, where our team assembled **both of the only NUR-HOLZ buildings currently in the UK**.

Manufactured in Germany, the NUR-HOLZ system uses solid timber panels connected using patented wooden dowels, creating a completely natural, glue-free construction method. The result is a highly engineered building system with exceptional thermal and structural performance, while making the most of one of the world's most sustainable natural resources.

Projects like this demonstrate how modern construction is evolving — combining the craftsmanship and benefits of traditional materials with advanced engineering, offsite precision and innovative low-carbon building methods.

A great piece in the latest KL Magazine showcasing our deep retrofit of The Blue House in Brancaster**.

Working alongside **Studio 163**, we’ve carefully blended conservation with contemporary design, creating a flawless finish that sits perfectly within this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

A fantastic example of how thoughtful design, high-quality craftsmanship and respect for the existing building can come together to create something truly special.

We’re incredibly proud to have played our part in bringing this project to life.

King & Company Norfolk are honored to be the Principal Contractor leading the conservation and sensitive restoration of this iconic Grade I listed landmark.

The project will see this remarkable 17th-century building carefully repaired and conserved, including works to the stonework, windows, roof and its famous cupola, while retaining almost all of its historic fabric. The project will also improve accessibility and help bring the building back into sustainable use for future generations.

As a Norfolk-based specialist contractor with a passion for heritage, being entrusted with a building of this significance is a huge privilege. Projects like this showcase the skill, care and traditional craftsmanship within our team, and we are proud to play our part in protecting such an important piece of King’s Lynn’s history.
