During extreme hot weather, wooden, composite, and uPVC doors or frames can warp. If you find your lock is getting difficult to turn when the door is shut, it needs looking at!

🛑 Don't force it: Putting too much pressure on a stiff handle or key can quickly cause your locking mechanism or gearbox to fail.

🔍 Quick Diagnostic Test:

Open your door wide.

Try locking it while the door is still open.

If the mechanism throws smoothly while open but struggles when closed, you have a door alignment issue rather than a broken lock.

Hey neighbours! Just wanted to share a quick tip!
If your front door lock is acting "glitchy," sticking, or being stubborn with the key, don't call the locksmith just yet. # # # 🛠 The 2-minute fix:
Before you pay for a service call, try spraying a little lubricant into the keyhole and on the latch.
• What to use: While regular WD-40 works in a pinch, many locksmiths recommend WD-40 Specialist Silicone!
• The Result: Usually, it clears out the friction and makes the lock turn like new!
