I've been helping with a few kitchens lately. Units, bespoke shelves, worktops, flooring and upstands.

Fiddly things kitchens, so many elements to juggle at the same time. These worktops turned out well in the end with some bullnose upstands. 👌🏼

🌧Despite the weather doing its best to slow things down at the start of this week, this old gate with post still got removed and replaced with a new, solid, and secure gate — and a very happy customer at the end of it. 🤸‍♂️

Sometimes it’s the simple jobs done properly that make the biggest difference.

Some days bring you full circle...🌳🌳🌳

Last weekend I co-led a community woodland session with a great group of volunteers, laying a hawthorn hedge . It was good to be back in the woods where I have spent some happy times green woodworking and working with community & youth groups.

Now, as part of the Foundry Wood steering committee, it feels good to still get hands-on and contribute in a practical way. Nothing beats working together outdoors, helping the woodland and seeing a real, positive result by the end of the day.

🏡 A bit of an unusual one for me this week...

I was asked to help a neighbour out and build their son a workshop shed in their new garden.

So after a friend, a local landscaper (thanks Tristan👍🏼) laid a slab base for the shed kit to be built upon, I could get the timber frame built. 📐🔨🪚
Despite the weather this week 🌧️ it is now installed and weather tight!

Before and after — exterior fencing installation.

Posts were set securely in postcrete before the fencing was installed, resulting in a clean, solid boundary. The customer was very pleased with the finished result.
