We were recently asked to remove two large Ash trees in wells. Ash dieback is now rampant on the Mendips making them potentially very dangerous to climb. With no access for a crane or MEWP (mobile elevated working platform) we were in a fortunate position where the trees was still safe to climb. Through carefully planned rigging techniques we were able to successfully lower the trees to ground level with no damage to the surrounding fences and sheds. Great work by the team.

Last week in what felt like 50 degree heat 🥵 we carried out 20% reduction and thin on this large Beech tree. With some pretty serious wounds on the large lateral branch’s due to squirrel damage this work was essential. Very little pruning had previously been carried out so it was great to restore the shape and help preserve the tree for years to come.

Emergency call out this morning with P R Simpson Contracting. This large Scott’s pine had major root plate failure over night leaving it precariously perched against the house. With the use of a crane and basket we successfully managed to dismantle the tree causing no further damage.

Last week we were tasked with removing this large Golden Monterey Cypress. Some time ago a large limb shed its self crushing a car in the process, this had become a common occurrence due to large amounts of die back in the canopy. On the advice of an Arboricultural consultant a decision was made to section fell the tree to ground level for safety purposes.

Today we were in Cloford trimming some Yew hedges. The hedges have been carefully maintained by the client for the last 20 years so accurate trimming was essential. The customer was ecstatic with the results after a bad experience with the previous contractor.

Ground clearance in Meare for the day. With a large renovation of the property taking place the first steps were to clear all nettles, brambles and self set Willow trees. Incredible amount of space uncovered to get the ball rolling. This is a service we are now offering to our domestic and commercial clients.
