⚡ Is your EV draining your home battery?
If so… it’s probably wired wrong!
Why use a battery to charge a battery? It’s hugely inefficient, especially now with off-peak tariffs. Your home battery should power your household loads alongside your PV, not get emptied into your EV.
To put it in perspective: your EV battery is on average 7-9 times larger than your home battery. Draining the small one into the big one makes no sense.
✅ The fix: wire it so your home battery doesn’t even know your car charger exists. By installing your CT upstream of the charger, the battery won’t register the EV as a load. That means:
Your home battery does what it’s meant to,cover small household loads.
Your EV can still benefit from surplus solar during the day.
