Update on petition to create a regular COVID style briefing to inform the public about the challenges and responses to the climate emergency

The UK faces growing risks from climate and nature breakdown - from extreme weather to economic disruption and national security threats. Yet the public has never been given a clear national briefing on the scale of these risks. Government should hold an emergency briefing from leading experts.

Our next Green Drinks will be at the Old Inn on Walton Road on Friday June 19th at 7.30pm. We'll be in the darts room which is through the restaurant.

Our speakers will be Joel Coniston, the chair of Land Yeo Friends and Val Phillips of Clean up the Land Yeo.

The aim of the evening will be to let us know about the course of the river, its importance to the town, and to discuss ways to get the river flowing and abundant again. This river is a part of the potential flood prevention for the town.

Poo, p*e and paper... that's all the Victorians knew when they built the system 😬

It’s been 1 year since the wet wipe ban was announced in the UK 🚫

From May 2027, wet wipes containing plastic will be banned to help protect the environment.
But it’s important to know that not all wipes are disappearing and even plastic-free or “flushable” wipes don’t break down like toilet paper. That’s why they still cause problems in our sewers, making up around 93% of blockages.

🚽 Keep it simple: only flush the 3Ps: p*e, poo and paper. Everything else goes in the bin.
