It's an unusually large domestic system, but there's a useful lesson for businesses.

Will your existing radiators work with a heat pump? 🌡️

Not always, and that’s why room-by-room heat loss calculations matter.

Before designing a heat pump system, we calculate how much heat each room needs and check whether the existing radiators can deliver it at the proposed flow temperature.
✓ 100% = radiator meets the calculated requirement
⚠️ Below 100% = the radiator may be undersized

Heat pumps work most efficiently at lower flow temperatures, so getting the radiator sizing right helps keep your home comfortable and the system running efficiently.
Good heat pump design starts with the property, not the heat pump.

Your heat pump is working. But is it working properly?

Regular servicing isn't simply about checking that a heat pump switches on and produces heat. It gives us an opportunity to look at how the whole system is performing, identify potential problems before they develop into faults, and make adjustments where they can improve operation.

During a service, we check that components are operating correctly, assess the condition and performance of the system, and look for anything that could be affecting how efficiently or reliably it runs.

And if something isn't quite right, we'll explain what we've found and advise on any changes or additions that may help keep the system performing as it should.

With 15 years of experience in heat pump servicing, installation and fault finding, we've seen plenty of systems that work, but don't necessarily work as well as they could.

We're also F-Gas qualified, giving our team the knowledge to assess the refrigeration side of the system, including compressors and faults that can sometimes result from poor installation or system design.

A heat pump is an investment in your property. Regular servicing helps protect it.

Our engineer Gary is a Certified Heat Geek Installer and has completed the Heat Geek Ultimate Heat Pump Training workshop, developing his knowledge of heat-loss calculations, system design, controls and efficient heat-pump operation.
