Lackluster lawn? Time for some tough love👀.
If your grass is looking more meh than mega, don’t panic—June is prime time to turn things around.
Here’s the messing fix-it list:
• Mow like you mean it (but not too short)
Scalping the lawn won’t “teach it a lesson.” Set your mower to a higher cut—longer grass copes better in heat and shades out w**ds.
• Feed it. 👀
Use a summer lawn feed with high nitrogen to green things up. Avoid the “extra strength” stuff unless you enjoy scorch marks.
• Water, don’t spritz.
Lawns like a deep drink, not a light misting. Once or twice a week is better than daily dithering. Early morning = gold standard.
• Rake out the freeloaders.
Moss and thatch build-up? Give it a firm rake. Yes, it’s tedious, but your lawn will breathe better and look less like a doormat.
Stick with it. By July, your lawn might actually look like a place to picnic instead of a patchy reminder of broken dreams.
