Another roof we’ll be putting right in the coming weeks after being contacted by an elderly homeowner who had concerns about a recently installed dry ridge system.
After carrying out an inspection we found:
❌ Ridge tiles not mechanically fixed
❌ Ridge ventilation system not installed correctly
❌ Adhesive strips left on the ridge membrane
❌ Existing ridge tiles simply re-used
❌ Only 3 hip ridges completed, with the rear hip left untouched
❌ Installation not completed to manufacturer specifications
The homeowner had paid a substantial amount for the work and was understandably upset when these issues came to light.
After seeing the condition of the roof, we’ve agreed to rectify the installation for the cost of materials only.
Sometimes doing the right thing is more important than making a profit.
We’ll share the finished result once the works have been completed.
