The photograph shows a classic case of differential settlement. This is invariably caused by a shallow foundation or incorrect type of foundation. The reason this topic is important for conservatories is that many companies think that a shallow foundation for a conservatory is acceptable, however, I have attended many conservatories where differential settlement has occurred due to poor foundation design, and even though most conservatories are lightly loaded the use of a ad-hoc type of foundation is unwise. Look out for differential settlement when viewing a property with a conservatory!
