Why is roof glazing one of the most powerful tools in a loft conversion?

By bringing natural light in from above, it can transform even the most challenging roof spaces, helping them feel brighter, more open and better connected to the outdoors.

Roof glazing also serves as a focal point within the room, transforming the sloping roof from a constraint into one of the space's defining architectural features.

In this project, floor-to-ceiling glazing follows the slope of the roof, flooding the room with daylight while framing views of the sky. The result is a space that feels significantly larger, lighter and more inviting than its footprint alone might suggest.

When carefully considered, roof glazing can do far more than introduce natural light—it can enhance the sense of volume, improve the quality of a space and create a striking architectural feature.

Since partnering with JUST ONE Tree, our contributions across the Collective have enabled more than 880 trees to be planted through global reforestation projects that help restore ecosystems, capture carbon and support local communities.

Alongside our ongoing commitment to sustainable architecture, we continue to donate the equivalent of 40 trees every month through this partnership.

Add passion...

We’ve been proud to support the next generation through our sponsorship of Walpole FC Under 12s this season — helping grow a passion for the game, teamwork and confidence both on and off the pitch.

It was great to see the players celebrated at their presentation event: a brilliant group of players, dedicated coaches and a fantastic community around the club.

Before → After Bungalow: Reimagined for family living

This bungalow has been thoughtfully reconfigured and extended to better support modern family life - scroll for before and afters.

Rather than reworking the entire home, this project focused on transforming the main living spaces — improving the flow and functionality of the kitchen, dining, living and utility areas to better suit day-to-day family life.

Externally, the existing detached garage was redesigned as a larger attached garage, helping to better integrate the built form while providing additional storage and improved practicality through the inclusion of front and rear access doors, allowing convenient access to the rear garden.

A key feature of the scheme is the monopitch extension to the lounge, introducing additional height, space and natural light to create a more generous and uplifting communal living area.

The use of contrasting materials gives the extension a bold, contemporary identity, creating a real point of difference while complementing the original bungalow.

While some final details are still to be completed, the transformation already demonstrates the impact thoughtful design can have on both a home and the way a family lives within it.

This residential scheme reimagines existing space to better support modern family life — including the conversion of an existing integrated garage into a snug and pantry, alongside a new replacement - double - garage.

A thoughtful design focused on functionality, practicality, and enhancing the way the home works day to day— while also adding long-term value and remaining sympathetic to the character of the existing property.

Not every wall needs to be straight.

This curved wall was designed to improve visual flow and create a more natural transition between spaces, gently guiding movement and sightlines through the layout.

By softening corners and reducing visual interruption, the space feels more connected, intuitive and easy to navigate. The curve also introduces a subtle sense of movement, with light and shadow shifting across the surface throughout the day.

A simple design move, but one that adds softness, rhythm and a more considered spatial experience.

From closed-off to completely transformed!

What was once a series of disconnected, darker ground floor rooms is now a bright, open-plan space designed for modern living. By rethinking the layout and extending to the rear, we’ve:

✔ Opened up the entire ground floor
✔ Created a seamless kitchen, dining & living area
✔ Introduced natural light with large glazing and rooflights
✔ Cleverly relocated the utility and added a pantry — keeping everyday clutter tucked away and freeing up the main living space

The result? A sociable, light-filled space that works effortlessly for everyday life and entertaining.
