The Orton Group is currently expanding the business and are looking for a junior Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) Compliance Advisor to support the current HSEQ Compliance Manager within the business.
The candidate will need to have a reasonable knowledge of electrical and mechanical HSEQ requirements in domestic and commercial environments, but training and support will be provided.
Ideally the candidate will have a nationally recognised IOSH accredited qualification and be an Associate Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (AIOSH) or be working toward this IOSH grade.
Job role outline
Support the existing HSEQ Compliance Manager with the day-to-day requirements of the job role including:
 Carrying out regular site inspections, compiling site reports and maintaining an audit trail regarding all health and safety matters.
 Provide advice to all managerial, office and site personnel including subcontractors employed under the group.
 Attend client meetings with other Orton team members when required.
 Attending company audits, contract reviews, management meetings when requested
 Mentor to support other members of the team on matters relating to HSEQ.
 Assist in the production of RAMS applicable to the scope of works being carried.
 Assist in the production/review of CoSHH assessments when required.
 Review RAMS if requested before they are issued to the customer
 When required update Policies, Procedures and Forms to meet Company and regulatory requirements in line with ISO standards.
 Assist in the ISO compliance requirements including internal audits and the evaluation of compliance.
 Where necessary assist in the investigation of accident and near miss/close call incidents.
 Carry out employee induction training, toolbox talks and arrange external HSEQ training when necessary.

 IOSH - Institute of Occupational Safety and Health
Qualifications
 NEBOSH General certificate or equivalent
Experience
 Experience in construction and/or rail sectors desirable but not essential

Job Description
• Carry out mechanical installations to high levels of quality encouraging teams members to work to the same standards.
• Lead team of plumbers / pipefitters and apprentices in sections of work.
• Report to site supervisor daily on progress
• Read and interpret drawings identifying and reporting issues as applicable.
• Track daily material usage ensuring sufficient materials are in hand before they are required
• Carry out mechanical testing as required.

Experience & Quals
• All relevant commercial HCWS pipework qualification codes essential
• All relevant commercial gas install qualification codes essential
• SSSTS qualification preferred
• IPAF qualification preferred
• PASMA qualification preferred
• Experience in commercial and industrial installation with copper up to 63mm

Orton are looking for a Tenant Liaison Officer to act as the first point of contact for tenants with any queries regarding rewires on behalf of local authorities.

Duties will include:
• Liaising with residents in their own homes and over the phone regarding planned improvement works
• Advise residents on electrical works
• Act as the first point of contact for tenants with any queries
• Send out initial information packs and letters to all tenants
• To liaise with Contract Manager, Supervisors, admin and clients to ensure that the needs and requirements of tenants are met whilst having regard to financial constraints.
Necessary Skills and Qualifications:
• Excellent communicative skills
• Ability to sue technology hardware and software for the betterment of the organisation
• Professional attitude and demeanour
• Prior experience in the field of liaison
• Ability to adapt and excel in a fast-paced work environment
• Must hold a valid driving licence
• Experience working with tenants for Councils/Housing Associations
• Experience in electrical works desirable but not essential

- Wire and set up smart heating controls
- Fault finding on existing heating systems

Successful candidates must have:
- NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation work or approved equivalent
- Qualified to City & Guilds standard (17 th or 18 th edition)
