We are keen supporters of charities and do fundraising for Cancer Research, St Raphaels Hospice, Macmillan and more. We also carry out handyman services right down to picture hanging, flat pack building and tool/fixings supply and advice.

Part 3 of things I’ve learnt in my time in business. Terms and conditions are essential and will reduce the amount of grief and misunderstanding in jobs by quite a lot. Which is what everyone wants, trade & customer!

6 years ago. Laying in hospital after blacking out, I had had an awful allergic reaction and within a year I’d also contract tonsillitis & pneumonia. Stress is a powerful force and signs like this which I thought were just bad luck were actually alarm bells.

This was June 2020, not long lost my dad, stuck on a very difficult job, losing money, struggling to keep the business going and height of Covid. Safe to say probably the most stressful time of my life, but I didn’t share, I just tried to carry on, brave face. Eventually it all caught up with me with 2 years of health problems.

Things had to change, over the coming years, I reduced hours, spent more time with my kids, cut out alcohol and started our joint directorship. Started slowly talking with a friend about stuff too and started our socials. Thought it would be a good opportunity to show the reality and that people who look like they have it figured out on socials, have probably also had it pretty rough at times and things can be made better.

So lessons learnt, make sure you talk to people, I think if I had at the time when things were toughest then it would have been very different. Listen to your body, it knows before you ever will. Dont work every hour available and look after yourself.

If you are having a tough time at the moment, talk to someone, anyone. It will get better. 🫶🏻
