Our client in Leigh Sinton approached us seeking a new direction for an existing project. As part of our revised approach, we began by removing the original garden walls to make way for a more cohesive and modern layout. We installed new foundations and constructed the brickwork for a single-storey extension, including the installation of underfloor heating, which has been prepared and left ready for when the client is ready to proceed with the roofing structure.
Externally, a new garden boundary wall was constructed to clearly define the property limits. High quality limestone flagstones were laid throughout, creating a clean, durable and visually appealing finish across the outdoor spaces.
This project provides a solid foundation for future works while delivering immediate structural and aesthetic improvements.

Transforming a Family Home: Structural Renovation in Minchinhampton.
The project involved removing internal walls to merge a kitchen and dining room into one large kitchen diner. Additionally, the cloakroom needed to be relocated to another area of the house. Once the structural modification plans were completed, the team quickly progressed with installing beams, boarding, and plastering.

Acorn construction recently completed a brand-new, easy-access storage facility in the centre of Fownhope. The clients aim was to provide a practical and secure storage solution for the local community.
Acorn Construction undertook several key tasks:
Complete rip-out of the existing yard area.
Breaking of the concrete and reducing the ground levels.
Building a concrete retaining wall, including one for the neighbour’s garden.
Installing a new concreted front apron.
Placement of 10 containers, each wired with lights and sockets.
Cladding the front to match the existing workshop.

This is a recently completed project in Bromyard, Herefordshire. Initially, the contract was to remove two dormers as they were redundant and leaking. However, upon closer inspection, the existing roof slates were perished. To ensure the longevity and safety of the structure, the decision was made to replace the entire roof with composite slates. Additionally, the two redundant chimneys were removed, prioritizing safety and functionality.

An 8-inch thick slab of reinforced concrete is a robust choice, providing the necessary strength to support heavy loads and withstand wear over time. Reinforcement typically involves the use of steel rebar or mesh to enhance the concrete's tensile strength. The power floating process is an essential step in achieving a smooth, level surface. This technique involves using a power trowel to polish the surface, which not only improves aesthetics but also increases the floor's resistance to abrasion and chemical spills. The combination of reinforcement and a power floated finish results in a high-quality, long-lasting floor that meets the demands of commercial use.
