This week’s project was these fitted alcove units in a beautiful Victorian property in Worthing.

The fireplace presented a slight complication, as the mantel overhung the chimney breast, meaning full-height doors on the upper cabinets weren’t possible. A French dresser-style design turned out to be the perfect solution, leaving the lower shelf open and keeping everything balanced visually.

The mouldings and beading complement the room’s Victorian décor beautifully, helping the units feel completely in keeping with the character of the property.

Completed this bespoke alcove project this week in Haywards Heath.
The TV unit features an open shelf for the Sky box, while the push-to-open doors maintain a clean, handleless look. Finished with decorative mouldings to the top and shelf fascias, these details completely transform the feel of the sitting room and give the space a much more refined, built-in appearance.

Fitted this 2 metre wardrobe this week, with a really clever double function. Once painted white, it’s going to double up as a bedroom projector screen.
The push-to-open doors are a great touch too, keeping the surface clean and reducing any obstruction to the picture.
Looking forward to seeing it finished and in action as I think it’s a brilliant idea by the customer.

Back on the Broadwater project this week and it’s all coming together. The stud work I installed has been fully boarded, skimmed, and painted, with the electric fire and TV now in place.
With the addition of these fitted alcove units and floating shelves, the finish line is nearly there. The cupboards are built from 18mm MDF, while the tops and floating shelves use veneered oak MDF with solid oak facias.
The contrast between the painted units and the varnished oak is going to look fantastic. Really pleased with how this one has turned out.

Recently popped back to a previous job I did a few years back in Peacehaven. While the unit offers great storage, my customers wanted some open shelving above to fully maximise the available space. Built this under stair storage a couple of weeks ago in High Salvington. With limited space, this smart yet simple solution was just what was needed. The bi-folding door gives maximum access, and the push-to-open mechanism avoids any unexpected snags from handles or k***s.
