ESI Technology Ltd

ESI Technology Ltd Pressure Transmitters, Pressure Transducers, Pressure Sensors Since 2009 ESI Technology has been an independently run part of SUCO GmbH.

Originally Ellison Sensors, ESI Technology manufactures and designs everything in the purpose built facility in Wrexham, UK. From this base, over three quarters of the products are exported around the globe to all the major industrialised countries. ESI Technology pressure transducers and pressure transmitters were originally designed for challenging aerospace and military applications. A variety

of technologies have been used according to the application but nowadays the Silicon-on-Sapphire technology is the jewel in the crown. Silicon-on-Sapphire technology gives superior performance to older construction methods and combined with a titanium diaphragm and all titanium wetted parts provides excellent physical and chemical resistance. That is why some of the biggest manufacturers in the aerospace industry, defence industry, automotive and subsea oil and gas choose ESI Technology pressure sensors. We believe that two- way communication between us and our customers is important. As designers and manufacturers for many years, we understand the products and help our customers to achieve the solutions they require. As both the products and the markets for them evolve we are always seeking new partners – distributors, system integrators and OEM. Pressure Transducers Pressure measurement is often conducted in critical conditions. Replacement sensor cost is sometimes not as important as reliability. That is why ESI Technology pressure transducers and transmitters are pre-conditioned for their environment. Testing is an integral part of our manufacturing processes which is why you can rely on an ESI Technology pressure sensor. Different industries have different quality standards. For example, for control valves in Subsea Control Modules ESI Technology provide hyperbaric test certificates (to 4000 metres) as standard. Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) is also offered. For hazardous areas and intrinsically safe applications ESI Technology have a range of pressure sensors with ATEX and IECEx certification for Gas Atmospheres, Dust Atmospheres and Mining. All products can be supplied with full documentation including certificates of conformity, calibration certificates, and material certificates etc. – all generated as a matter of course by our quality systems. ESI Technology works closely with local business groups and academia, completing projects with Glyndŵr University.

When accuracy matters, the pressure measurement needs to be up to the job.

From aerospace testing and calibration laboratories to automotive, oil & gas, hydrogen and industrial applications, accurate pressure data can make all the difference.

But high accuracy isn't just about the number on a datasheet.

Sensor technology, temperature stability, repeatability, hysteresis, materials and long-term performance all play a part.

We’ve taken a closer look at where high accuracy pressure measurement is needed and why ESI pressure transducers are suited to demanding applications.

Bank Holiday Mode: Activated ☀️

A little heads-up from the ESI team!

ESI Technology will be closed on Monday 31st August for the August Bank Holiday.

We’ll be putting the pressure transmitters down, stepping away from the screens and making the most of the long weekend. 🍹🌳

We’ll be back in the office on Tuesday 1st September, fully recharged and ready to measure all things pressure!

Have a fantastic Bank Holiday weekend from everyone at ESI Technology. 💙

When pressure measurement gets demanding, HISPEC steps up!

Not every application can rely on a standard pressure transmitter.

ESI Technology’s HISPEC range has been developed for applications where accuracy, stability, temperature resistance and durability really matter.

From high-precision pressure measurement and TEDS technology to high-temperature, downhole, compact OEM and hydrogen-compatible applications, the HISPEC range offers specialist solutions for challenging environments.

We’ve taken a closer look at the HISPEC range, including what makes each model suited to its particular application.

Your system might normally operate comfortably within its pressure range, but what happens when a valve closes suddenly, a pump starts up, or water hammer sends a pressure wave through the system?

These short-duration pressure transients can put significant stress on a pressure transmitter, potentially affecting accuracy, reliability and service life.

In our latest article, we look at:

▪️ What causes pressure spikes
▪️Water hammer and rapid valve operation
▪️Pump and compressor start-up
▪️Mechanical shock and vibration
▪️How transient events affect pressure sensors
▪️What to consider when specifying a pressure transmitter

Is your pressure transmitter trying to tell you something?

A fluctuating signal. A gradual drift. A sudden spike. A reading that doesn't quite match what you expected.

Your pressure transmitter may not be the problem and it could be worth looking at what the signal is actually telling you.

Our latest article explores some of the most common pressure measurement behaviours and the clues they can provide, from process fluctuations and temperature effects to calibration issues, vibration and electrical interference.

Good things happen when great teams get together!

It’s been a busy few days at ESI Technology as we welcomed our colleagues from SUCO Robert Scheuffele GmbH & Co. KG

They didn’t just stop by for a catch-up though, we’ve been getting stuck into some really valuable work together, looking at our systems and integrations and exploring how we can improve the way everything works together.

It’s been a productive few days of technical discussions, problem-solving, ideas 💡

Strong partnerships are about more than working alongside each other. They’re about continually finding ways to make things better.

A big thank you to our SUCO colleagues for the time, expertise and enthusiasm. We’re looking forward to putting all the ideas from this week into action!

Not every pressure measurement challenge comes with a neat, off-the-shelf specification.

From unusual pressure ranges and demanding temperatures to specialist materials, unique connections and hazardous-area requirements, some applications need a more tailored approach.

The good news is that alongside our standard product range, we also develop custom and special pressure measurement solutions designed around the specific requirements of an application.

Sometimes it’s a modification to an existing design. Sometimes it’s something completely new.

Either way, our aim is simple: design the pressure measurement solution around the application, rather than making the application fit the product.

After a whirlwind couple of weeks, Paul and Randal have completed their tour of China and South Korea and are now heading back to Wrexham 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

They’ve packed a lot into the trip: meeting customers, visiting end users, catching up with partners and, most importantly, making new connections and strengthening relationships across the region. 🌏

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to meet with them and make them feel so welcome. It’s been a fantastic opportunity to better understand our customers’ needs, explore new opportunities and put some faces to the names we know so well.

Now for the important question...

Have we got enough teabags in the office for their return? ☕😂
