Sand and Cement Render Removal Underway in Harrogate

Work is progressing well on this full exterior render refurbishment at a property in Harrogate.

The old sand and cement render had become cracked, tired and unsuitable for overcoating, so we removed it back to the original brickwork. This allowed the walls to be inspected, repaired, cleaned and properly prepared before the new render system was installed.

We have now started spray applying and ruling the first scratch coat, which forms the first stage of a two-coat mesh-reinforced basecoat system.

Next, we will apply the second basecoat with fibreglass reinforcement mesh, allow the system to cure, prime the walls and spray apply the selected silicone render topcoat.

Once complete, the property will have a clean, modern exterior with a breathable, flexible and water-repellent finish.

Another exterior transformation completed in Harrogate

This property had a tired and weathered finish, so we carried out a full silicone render refurbishment to give it a cleaner, brighter and more modern appearance.

The walls were fully prepared and repaired where needed before we applied a reinforced basecoat system, primer and a spray-applied silicone render finish in a soft Linen shade.

Windows, doors, paving, roof areas and surrounding surfaces were carefully protected throughout, followed by a full clean-down once the work was complete.

The new finish is breathable, flexible, water-repellent and low maintenance, helping the property stay protected against the Yorkshire weather while keeping its traditional character.

We’ve recently completed a full exterior render transformation on this property in Harrogate.

The original pebble dash had become tired, weathered and was beginning to fail in several areas, so rather than covering over the problem, we removed it completely back to the original brickwork.

Once the walls had been cleaned, inspected and repaired, we installed a two-coat mesh-reinforced basecoat system. After this had fully cured, the property was primed and finished with a modern silicone render topcoat.
