WALL ALIGNMENT AND ITS IMPORTANT
Wall alignment is a key principle in building design that guides both architects and engineers in making accurate decisions during planning and construction.
Proper wall alignment:
1) Helps in accurate setting out on site
2) Guides architects when developing and compiling building plans
3) Assists structural engineers in positioning columns correctly
4) Ensures efficient use and maximization of space
When wall alignment is ignored, especially during the design stage, it can create serious challenges on site. Irregular or zigzag walls introduced purely for aesthetics can complicate setting out, affect structural placement, and increase construction difficulty and cost.
As a planner, if proper alignment is not considered during design, those aesthetic decisions may lead to practical problems during ex*****on.
