🧱 Retaining Wall Project – Final Stages

Following on from our previous post, the retaining wall has now been shuttered and poured, creating a strong reinforced concrete wall to deal with the considerable change in ground levels at the rear of the property.

The next stages of the project are:

🔹 Installing drainage to the rear of the retaining wall
🔹 Backfilling behind the wall with hardcore
🔹 Dressing and levelling the front of the wall with topsoil
🔹 Preparing the finished area for the client’s planned fence installation along the top of the wall

It’s great to see the project taking shape, and we’ll share another update once the remaining groundworks are completed.

🧱 Retaining Wall Project – Progress Update

A recent project where our client required a substantial retaining wall at the rear of their house, due to a considerable change in ground levels.

The job involved:

🔹 Excavating the existing bank
🔹 Setting out and excavating the foundations
🔹 Installing reinforcement steel
🔹 Pouring the reinforced concrete foundation using an excavator and concrete skip
🔹 Positioning the wall shutters with the assistance of the excavator
🔹 Preparing the formwork and reinforcement ready for the wall pour

The wall is currently partly shuttered and is not yet poured. Once the remaining shuttering and preparation are completed, the reinforced concrete wall will be poured.

Another job where careful planning, excavation and solid groundwork are essential to getting the finished result right.
